To Vue or Not to Vue?

On the way back to the office today I visited the new Cafe Vue attached to Vue De Monde, Shannon Bennett's famous and fantastic french eatery in Little Collins street (which I adore, by the way). I admit that my visit was after lunch service, so we really weren't expecting too much, which was quite handy... My motto in this circumstance is "if there isn't any food left, stop serving" - just my opinion. I had a great coffee and some lovely toasted bread that was originally meant to contain salmon but which (after consultation) was changed to tuna. I am glad that I had been advised of the change because otherwise I might have had to ask the waiter what was in my sandwich (there was so little filling evident).

Look, I love the nifty way that the laneway has been utilised in this establishment, and the funky wooden cutlery, the beautiful crockery, the decor and design of the place, and really, just that it is there at all. I also think that an ordinary sandwich from here is probably a lot better than a great sandwich from a lot of other places - I had just expected a little more from these guys...

A totally random stranger who agreed that I capture his soul in my camera at Cafe Vue.
