Christmas Cheer - Day 5 - Sitting 1

Yes, it is Christmas Day! Otherwise known as 'The Big One' or 'watch out my pants are about to burst'.

We started the day as we wanted to end it - happy, and with champagne in our hands! J's Mum was hosting lunch this year and had been cooking up a storm for a few days (which caused much inadvertant mouth-watering well before any food hit the tables). So there wasn't a whole heap (for me) to do on the actual day except try to look lovely, make sure everyone had a drink in their hand, and try every trick in the book to get one's hand upon the crackling bowl (no, seriously that wasn't me...) which had fallen out of heaven and onto our Christmas (converted Ping Pong) table.

Christmas Cheer - Day 4

Day 4 of our Christmas break was Christmas Eve. James' brother W and his girlfriend P had kindly offered to have us and the boys parents over for lunch. I offered to come over early to help P prepare (although it seems that she actually got up at 3am to prepare so by the time I got there all there was to do was drink champagne...). My contribution to the day was World Famous, but it really did pale in comparison with the enormous effort P (and W?) had gone to for the day. We started with Asian entrees of Rice Paper Rolls and Sushi (I particularly loved the crumbed chicken fillet in the RPR's). After a little intermission we had a full Christmas lunch with all the trimmings - an even more spectacular effort when it was revealed that P doesn't even eat red meat...(my particular favourites were the coloured olives in the salad) and then finished the afternoon off with pedicures, manicures, leftovers, and a snooze in front of the telly - not sure if I can do it again tomorrow!

My Lunch 3

This week I am being 100% healthy for my lunches, in fact I am trying my best to start a health-kick leading up to Christmas (last night's dinner at Stactites not-withstanding...). So, this week I have brought in my supplies to make the below (very unassuming-looking but HEAVENLY tasting) wraps.

Sowithout further ado .... here's what is inside them:
- Homemade Tabouleh (Parsley, Spring Onion, Onion, Cracked Wheat)
- The AMAZING Caulifower & Tahini Dip I read about at The Food Nazi
- Grated Carrot, Capsicum, Cucumber, and Beetroot
- A little Avocado
- Salt & Pepper

The BEST lunch so far!
